Barcelona superstar Neymar
is constantly linked with a move to the likes of Manchester United and
Paris Saint-Germain, and now the Brazilian has revealed the club he’d
love to play for one day – Flamengo.
Neymar is on his way to disrupting the
established order when it comes to the world’s best players with the
forward quickly catching up to the likes of teammate Lionel Messi and
Cristiano Ronaldo.
A move to United has been frequently rumoured
in recent years while French giants PSG are also reportedly keen on
signing the 25-year-old, but Neymar may have nixed a potential move to
either by revealing where he would like to play in the future.
The former Santos attacker has admitted the
thrill of playing in front of a full Maracana stadium has been yearning
for a transfer back to his native Brazil with Flamengo.
Speaking to Canal Esporte Interativo Neymar said: “I have a lot of desire to one day play for Flamengo, with the Maracana full, playing in the Copa Libertadores.”
Neymar also admitted that, while he still has
an emotional bond with former club Santos, the legal dispute over his
transfer between his old and current sides have left him feeling
frustrated.
He added: “I still have strong sentiments
towards Santos. But they went to court against me and I still don’t know
why. There is a lot the people don’t know about.
“All that’s missing is for the club to claim I
wanted to score an own goal in favour of Barcelona during the [2011]
Club World Cup.”
