Marco Verratti Snubs Messi For Ronaldo

Marco Verratti Snubs Messi For Ronaldo

La Liga giants Barcelona top summer target Marco Verratti has apparently snubbed Barca for Real Madrid.

According to Express, The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder wants to join Real Madrid instead as he sees Real as more of an attractive proposition than playing with Lionel Messi at Barca.

It is suggested that Verratti is intrigued by the team in which Florentino Perez is building at the Bernabeu and will like to be part of their plans.

It appears as if playing with Cristiano Ronaldo and the progress Real are making is convincing potential targets to join the newly-crowned champions over Barca.

Because other stars like Juventus's Paulo Dybala, Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also prefer a move to Real over Barca on the same conditions as Verratti.

I want to coach Barcelona - Ronald Koeman

Ronald Koeman dreams of one day taking charge of Barcelona

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has said that he longs for one day managing Barcelona.

Koeman had an amazing spell with the Catalan club as a player, winning the Champions League, four La Liga titles and the Copa Del Rey.
With manager Luis Enrique leaving Barcelona at the finish of the season, there have been rumours that Koeman could be his successor.
Koeman told Sport: "You see, everybody realizes that I am from Barca, they know my affection for a club where I grew up as a player and as a man.
"See, in my life as a professional coach I have two dreams to satisfy. One, Coach the choice of my nation, Holland. I have been able to do so, however my commitment to Everton has avoided me.
"My other wish, my other dream, is to one day coach Barca.
"Yes, since I now owe to Everton. We have a capable and energizing project and we will put in our best to attempt to reach the Champions League next season."
Asked whether Barcelona could approach him, Koeman included: "That is a speculation in which we can't enter excessively. In football, as in life, as in business, everything can be discussed and talked about."
Be that as it may, speaking at a press conference yesterday, the 54-year-old proposed that he is completely dedicated to Everton for the length of his agreement, which keeps running until the mid year of 2019.
According to BBC Sport, he said: "It's human for players and managers however that is not changing my agreement. Everton is huge project and I want to be a part of it. I'm really happy, I'm looking forward to next season.
"There is zero chance I will leave Everton before finishing contract. I don't see me being the next manager of barca."
Koeman is as of now centered around matters at Everton, with the Toffees in seventh place in the Premier League. They confront Swansea City away on Saturday and will be determined to finish the campaign strongly before turning their attention towards building for next season.

Barcelona superstar Neymar to stand trial for alleged fraud and corruption.

Barcelona star Neymar has been requested to stand trial on fraud and corruption accusations alongside his parents, Barcelona and Santos.
The Spanish National Court additionally requested on Thursday that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and his predecessor – Sandro Rosell – be sent to trial.
The asserted "business corruption and fraud" offenses relate with Neymar's transfer to Barcelona from Santos in 2013. All parties included deny any wrongdoing.
Brazilian investment group DIS said it got less money than the 40% it was entitled to from the disputed transfer fee and filed a lawsuit which has brought about a trial that will now proceed after all appeal options were exhausted.
Prosecutors want a two-year jail sentence for Neymar, eight years for Rosell and Bartomeu plus a €195m fine for Barça. That would probably not happen as he is a first-time offender according to the Spanish system
They are also seeking fines of €10million against the Neymar family.
Final appeals against the prosecution proceeding from Neymar, his parents, Barca and Santos had been rejected in February, while Bartomeu’s failed last week, prompting this court order. Bail has been set at €3.4m.
Neymar is not the only Barça star to find himself embroiled in problems with the Spanish authorities.
Defender Javier Mascherano agreed a one-year suspended sentence with authorities for tax fraud this year. Lionel Messi and his father were given 21-month suspended jail sentences in July 2016 for tax fraud relating to the player’s image rights.

Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes All-Time Top Scorer Across Europe's Top 6 Leagues After Goal vs Valencia

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes all time leading goal scorer

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has become the all-time leading goalscorer of the top-six European leagues after his first-half goal against Valencia on Saturday.

The 32-year-old superstar has now scored 367 goals during his time at Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and Real Madrid, 19 more than Barcelona rival Lionel Messi.

His record-breaking goal came from a beautifully whipped cross from Dani Carvajal, who placed the ball right onto the head of Ronaldo who nodded it in from five yards to make it 1-0.

The Ballon d'Or winner had the chance to score his 368th goal later in the game, only for his penalty to be well-saved by Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves

Real Madrid will go three points clear at the top of La Liga if they can hold on to their 1-0 advantage, but they might be knocked back down to second later on Saturday as Barcelona travel to local-rivals Espanyol.

With just four La Liga games remaining this season, Zinedine Zidane's side have a slight advantage as they have a game in hand on their Catalan giants.

Real Madrid Rebellion: Players want Cristiano Ronaldo out

Real Madrid Players want Cristiano Ronaldo out

It has been revealed that six players have risen up against the club, with the plan of having Cristiano Ronaldo dropped from the starting line-up. The Portuguese star has scored 31 goals in 39 appearances this season for Real Marid, yet the players feel the team plays better without him.

According to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, the players who want Ronaldo dropped are Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco Alarcon, Marco Asensio, and Alvaro Morata — warning the club officials that the idea of untouchables need to be broken. The 32-year-old was criticized for his performance in home El Clasico loss against Barcelona last Sunday.

The source also said that Ronaldo had a huge bust-up with team-mates Marcelo and Modric after the match, with the club captain Sergio Ramos even having to hold him back to stop the argument from turning into a fight. The Portuguese was reportedly unhappy with both players’ role in conceding the late goal to Barcelona, scored by none other than his biggest rival Lionel Messi.

Madrid’s bench players shone against huge win over Deportivo La Coruna yesterday, with James Rodriguez striking twice while Lucas Vasquez, Morata, Isco, and Casemiro also chipping in with one goal each. The players believe that the team plays with much more unity without Ronaldo, and with important matches coming up in both La Liga and Champions League, they want Zinedine Zidane to field the best eleven possible without any bias.

Osasuna forced to wear brand-new kit in upcoming Barcelona away game

Osasuna in action

Osasuna has been made to wear an all new kit at the Camp Nou on Wednesday as they clash with Barcelona‘s home strip.

Osasuna already have concerns of trying to stay in the division as they are currently at the bottom of the La Liga table but now must seek another kit as they prepare for the daunting task of facing a Barca side that will be full of confidence following their dramatic 3-2 win over Real Madrid in Sunday night’s El Clasico.
As revealed by the club's Twitter account today, Osasuna will wear a new orange kit against the Blaugrana side with a specific end goal to meet solicitations made by Spanish football's TV and broadcasting partners.
Osasuna have worn a green kit on numerous occasions away from home this season – most notably in their most recent trip to the Vicente Calderon earlier in the month when they suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Atletico Madrid.
They will go into the game against Barca, who they crashed 3-0 to in the reverse meeting earlier in the season – on the back of a 2-2 draw with Sporting Gijon in a result that has left them nine points adrift of safety in La Liga.

Gareth Bale And Lionel Messi Out Due To Injury

Lionel Messi injury El Clasico

Lionel Messi required medical attention in Sunday’s 3-2 Clasico win when a first-half clash with Marcelo left the Barcelona superstar bloodied.
Messi and Marcelo jostled for a ball in the 20th minute and the Brazilian left-back’s raised elbow caught the No. 10 in the face.
Argentina international Messi stayed down with blood streaming from his mouth.
He was then taken to the touchline where he received attention from members of the Barca medical staff, returning to the match moments later with gauze in his mouth.
Messi was seen sporting a black eye and missing teeth after the match, according to Press Association.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner then scored in the 33rd minute with a fine solo goal to even the score at 1-1, and later scored a superb winner in the second minute of stoppage time to send Barca to victory.
Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale

Meanwhile, Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale was forced to limp out of the match with what appeared to be a calf injury in the 39th minute.
The Wales international sat on the ground, holding his lower leg before being taken off for Marco Asensio.
Bale had suffered a calf problem in Real’s Champions League win at Bayern Munich earlier this month and did not feature in either the Liga win at Sporting Gijon or the second leg against Bayern.

Lionel Messi Scores his 500th Barcelona Goal at santiago-bernabeu

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi blew the La Liga title race wide open as his 500th Barcelona goal stunned Real Madrid by giving the Catalans a 3-2 El Clasico win at the Bernabeu.

Messi — sporting a black eye and missing teeth following Marcelo’s first-half challenge on him — struck twice with his winner coming from the last kick of the match.
Ivan Rakitic had earlier given Barcelona a 2-1 lead, while Casemiro and James Rodriguez were on target for hosts Real, who had skipper Sergio Ramos sent off 13 minutes from time for a two-footed challenge on Messi.
Barcelona go top because they have a better head-to-head record than Real, although Zinedine Zidane’s men have a game in hand and therefore six matches left to play to the Catalans’ five.
In an end-to-end contest, Real took a 28th-minute lead when Ramos hooked his shot against the post and Casemiro slid the rebound into an empty net.
But Barcelona were level within five minutes when Rakitic’s pass picked out Messi and the Argentinian swerved past Dani Carvajal to finish unerringly past Keylor Navas.
Gareth Bale was forced off through injury on his 100th La Liga appearance, but that was a rare stop in the action with both Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Navas making excellent stops.
But Navas had no chance keeping out Rakitic’s 73rd-minute piledriver and it got worse for Real when Ramos received a Clasico red card for the second successive season.
The challenge on Messi did not make contact with the Barcelona player, but the two-footed tackle was wild and reckless and worthy of a straight red card.
Rodriguez, who had only been on the pitch three minutes, looked as if he had handed Real a point when he converted Marcelo’s cross from close range.
But then Messi met Jordi Alba’s cross from eight yards out to find the bottom right-hand corner of Navas’ net.

Zinedine Zidane has so many stars his Real Madrid XI can manage themselves, says Ronald de Boer

Real Madrid Team
Real Madrid have so many stars they can put eleven players out on the pitch and the rest will take care of itself, according to former Barcelona midfielder Ronald De Boer.
Los Blancos are currently sitting top of the La Liga table with a three-point advantage over their bitter rivals and are once again in the Champions League semi-final – where they’ll face Atletico Madrid in a repeat of the 2014 & 2016 final.
De Boer, who spent one and a half seasons at the Camp Nou in the late 90’s, has hailed the strength of Zinedine Zidane’s squad and feels the Frenchman has stabilised the entire squad this year and insists the best players in the world are in Spain.
“The best club players in the world are playing at the Spanish clubs,” De Boer is quoted by Football Espana.
“In the last few years the Spanish teams have dominated in Europe and there’s been nobody close to Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, but the best players in the world are at the Spanish clubs.
“Real Madrid are quite stable this year – there is no speculation over the manager and relatively little over the players, and performances might not be fantastic but they’re generally strong.
“They can score from every position, they have so many stars – they can just put eleven players on the pitch and they will play with each other.
“Barcelona are more in my eyes a team with a stronger template of how they want to play and perform, at the minute I believe the two are equal.”
With El Clasico on the horizon, Madrid warmed up for the meeting with a 4-2 win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening – in a game that was shrouded in controversy as two of Cristiano Ronaldo’s three goals should have been ruled out for offside.
Victory over the Catalan giants will be a big boost for Zidane as he bids to bring the title back to the Santiago Bernabeu for the first time since the 2011/2012 season as they would move six points clear and still have a game in hand.

Brazilian Star Neymar has stated that He has no intention of retiring at Barcelona

Neymar

The Barcelona forward will not leave the La Liga giants anytime soon, but he has reiterated a desire to head home to Flamengo at some stage.

He has also committed his immediate future to Barca, with a contract through to 2021 penned at Camp Nou in October 2016.
At just 25 years of age, Neymar should still be in his prime when that deal comes to an end, with another extension possible, but a man widely tipped to capture the Ballon d’Or crown in his career has reiterated that he will return to South America before calling it a day.
He told Canal Esporte Interativo: “I have a lot of desire to one day play for Flamengo, with the Maracana full, playing in the Copa Libertadores.”
Neymar has already played domestic football in his homeland, with Santos having provided him with a platform on which to showcase his talent and earn a high-profile switch to Europe.
Relations between player and club have soured somewhat in recent years, though, with a big-money move to Barca attracting unwelcome attention.

No repeat miracle for eliminated Barcelona as Juventus stand firm

Juventus defenders Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli celebrate after their second clean sheet against Barcelona. Photograph: Josep Lago/AFP/Getty Images
There was to be no Comeback Part II, no repetition of that night against Paris Saint-Germain and no sign of the “madness” that Luis Enrique had hoped for. As the final seconds slipped away, flags waved all around the Camp Nou and the Barcelona fans sang. There was no recrimination and they had appreciated the effort, witnessing their team rack up 17 shots, but the supporters had long known that they were not heading into the Champions League semi-finals: this tie had been lost in the first 45 minutes in Turin. Juventus will be there instead, and deservedly so, after earning a clean sheet last night.
Luis Enrique, Barcelona’s coach, had talked about making their opponents nervous, but that never happened. Watching them, you wondered if they ever worry. Andrés Iniesta, meanwhile, had spoken about the need to take the game into a place where it at least became possible, but Barcelona never got there. Juventus simply would not let them. It is 21 years since Juventus won the Champions League but they must be considered contenders. This is a side of real assurance and in those rare moments that Barça got real opportunities, they could not take them.
Before the game Luis Enrique had vowed to “attack, attack, attack, and then when it is time to rest, attack and attack”. To begin with, that plan did not appear so easy to follow, the first real shot coming at the other end from Gonzalo Higuaín, but with time Barcelona did take a step forward. They pressed and passed and they did it as swiftly as they could, Lionel Messi dropping deep to start moves. Usually he looked left, where Neymar ran at Juventus and Jordi Alba overlapped. A neat clipped ball from Messi almost found him as he sped into the area, skidding for the ball four yards out.
Neymar, all fast feet, was pushing Juventus back, Iniesta willing to support inside as Alba went outside, and although the Italians are a side comfortable under pressure, there were hints that Barcelona could hurt them. Luis Suárez had a shot blocked and then Messi controlled just inside the penalty area and, with Giorgio Chiellini rushing out to him, pulled his shot past the post. He would have expected to hit the target. Neymar shot wide, then Sergi Roberto volleyed over and Iniesta cleared the bar.

The momentum was building, Barcelona playing high up the pitch. Gianluigi Buffon saved from Messi, who then slammed the rebound into the side-netting. Suárez could only skew a volley wide. If the chances were not always clear-cut – Messi apart – they were growing in number; by half-time Barcelona had taken nine shots, and the ball had been theirs 63% of the time. Juventus defended well and in numbers. There was also always the risk of the home side being caught on the counter. The most concerning came when Higuaín slid in to connect with a low volley from close range.
Half-time came as a watershed and a disappointment to the immense majority of the 96,290 people here. Emotionally, there had been a need to get a goal by then. Juventus stood firm; Barcelona’s energy was always likely to drop. They always knew this would be harder than the previous round against PSG: Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci are no easy pair to pass in defence, even when midfielders Sami Khedira and Miralem Pjanic could be overcome. And there was always Buffon. Messi had never scored against him.
The truth, though, was that while the shots racked up they rarely troubled the experienced Juve goalkeeper. Neymar fired over the bar then played a sharp one-two with Messi, whose attempt was also too high. Gerard Piqué soon copied them.
For the visitors, Juan Cuadrado ran into space on the right and went close at the near post. So often Juventus’s outlet, he had already fired one warning; this was another. Messi continued to carry the fight to Juventus, curling a low shot beyond to the far post and a high free-kick over the bar on the other side. As Barcelona grew desperate, striker Paco Alcácer came on for Ivan Rakitic.
More attackers did not mean more chances, though. Neymar and Piqué tried, Messi too – his right-footed volley from seven yards was the best of them – and so did Javier Mascherano soon after he was introduced. But this was not to be and everyone here knew it. They kept coming but there was no real sense of desperation, no collective hysteria or wild acceleration, no anticipation either. Barcelona had needed three goals, and as it went into the last ten minutes they still needed three. They could not get one – not here and not in Turin. With two minutes to go they chased the fourth official appealing a penalty, but the protest was in vain. The previous ninety minutes had been too. Finding a way past Juventus proved an impossible task that Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Monaco will not relish.

I have a strong desire to play for Flamengo - Neymar

Neymar

Barcelona superstar Neymar is constantly linked with a move to the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, and now the Brazilian has revealed the club he’d love to play for one day – Flamengo.
Neymar is on his way to disrupting the established order when it comes to the world’s best players with the forward quickly catching up to the likes of teammate Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
A move to United has been frequently rumoured in recent years while French giants PSG are also reportedly keen on signing the 25-year-old, but Neymar may have nixed a potential move to either by revealing where he would like to play in the future.
The former Santos attacker has admitted the thrill of playing in front of a full Maracana stadium has been yearning for a transfer back to his native Brazil with Flamengo.
Speaking to Canal Esporte Interativo Neymar said: “I have a lot of desire to one day play for Flamengo, with the Maracana full, playing in the Copa Libertadores.”
Neymar also admitted that, while he still has an emotional bond with former club Santos, the legal dispute over his transfer between his old and current sides have left him feeling frustrated.
He added: “I still have strong sentiments towards Santos. But they went to court against me and I still don’t know why. There is a lot the people don’t know about.
“All that’s missing is for the club to claim I wanted to score an own goal in favour of Barcelona during the [2011] Club World Cup.”

Rio Ferdinand - 'Barcelona have ‘five or six players not fit to wear the shirt'

Barcelona and Juventus in action

Barcelona’s first-team squad is currently filled with ‘five or six players not fit to wear the shirt’, believes Rio Ferdinand.
