Real Madrid Rebellion: Players want Cristiano Ronaldo out

Real Madrid Players want Cristiano Ronaldo out

It has been revealed that six players have risen up against the club, with the plan of having Cristiano Ronaldo dropped from the starting line-up. The Portuguese star has scored 31 goals in 39 appearances this season for Real Marid, yet the players feel the team plays better without him.

According to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, the players who want Ronaldo dropped are Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco Alarcon, Marco Asensio, and Alvaro Morata — warning the club officials that the idea of untouchables need to be broken. The 32-year-old was criticized for his performance in home El Clasico loss against Barcelona last Sunday.

The source also said that Ronaldo had a huge bust-up with team-mates Marcelo and Modric after the match, with the club captain Sergio Ramos even having to hold him back to stop the argument from turning into a fight. The Portuguese was reportedly unhappy with both players’ role in conceding the late goal to Barcelona, scored by none other than his biggest rival Lionel Messi.

Madrid’s bench players shone against huge win over Deportivo La Coruna yesterday, with James Rodriguez striking twice while Lucas Vasquez, Morata, Isco, and Casemiro also chipping in with one goal each. The players believe that the team plays with much more unity without Ronaldo, and with important matches coming up in both La Liga and Champions League, they want Zinedine Zidane to field the best eleven possible without any bias.

I hate PSG, I will never sign with them - Andre-Pierre Gignac

Tigres striker Andre-Pierre Gignac in action

Tigres striker Andre-Pierre Gignac says that he 'would rather kick the bucket' than sign with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The 31-year-old France striker has put in five years playing for the Ligue 1 team, whom he has fanned from a young age
Be that as it may, Gignac moved to Mexico in the late spring of 2015 to join up with Tigres, after netting 23 goals across over all competitions in his last season with Marseille.

Gignac was interviewed this week. When asked whether he would come back to France later on if Paris Saint-Germain offered him the opportunity to, something he said could never occur because of his contempt for the club.

"I detest PSG – I'd rather die than sign with them," Gignac told Life and Style. "In the event that PSG offered me 10 times more cash, I would not go there.

Gignac went on to further emphasise his hatred for PSG, revealing how he went wild when Barcelona knocked Unai Emery’s side out of the Champions League last month.
“You’ve got no idea how I shouted at Barcelona’s sixth goal in the Champions League,” Gignac added. “I screamed, ran, everything. My wife was even a little scared!”

Gignac started his senior career with Lorient and after three seasons there, the forward moved on to join Pau where he spent just one campaign.
Gignac, who was in France’s squad at Euro 2016 last year ahead of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, then moved to Toulouse where he spent four seasons before eventually joining Marseille.

Francesco Totti: Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard was my toughest ever English opponent

Steven Gerrard is the best English footballer

Francesco Totti has said that Steven Gerrard is the best English footballer he’s played against.

The Roma legend described Steven Gerrard as the toughest English player he has ever encountered.
The two players have met on several occasions in European competition when Gerrard’s beloved Liverpool faced the Serie A giants.
In those contests the pair, who until recently were both one-club men, struck up a mutual respect for one another and Totti is in no doubt who the best he’s come up against from England.
“Steven Gerrard. A champion and an example,” he simply told Marca, as reported by Football Italia.
A box-to-box midfielder with incredible footballing intelligence, Gerrard represented his boyhood club, whose academy he graduated from in 1998, on no fewer than 710 occasions.
He would manage 186 goals and guide them to a plethora of trophies including his most famous moment in Istanbul when Liverpool won their fifth European Cup.
Since hanging up his boots, last playing for Los Angeles Galaxy, he’s entered the world of coaching.
Gerrard was recently appointed as a youth coach at Liverpool with many Reds supporters hoping one day he could be sitting on the dugout managing their first team.

6 Players Who Have Gone Through the Best Transformations in Their Careers

6 Players Who Have Gone Through the Best Transformations in Their Careers

Footballers will rarely thrive if aren't continually looking to better themselves, physically, technically and mentally..

It's all about transforming into something bigger and better to reach the very top.

Aritz Aduriz
Aritz Aduriz
At some point around his 31st birthday, something clicked for Athletic Bilbao hero Aritz Aduriz. The veteran striker has enjoyed five incredible seasons since returning to the Basque club for a second spell and has scored more than half his career goals in just the last five years.

It took some time, but Aduriz has transformed into the clinical striker every forward strives to be. He scored as many as 36 times last season at the age of 35, a far cry from the single figure returns he was managing for Bilbao in his mid-twenties.

Victor Moses
Victor Moses
Victor Moses has transformed his career fortunes this season through sheer hard work and dedication, proving himself to be an invaluable member of a Chelsea squad destined to recapture the Premier League title.

After ultimately disappointing loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham, Moses' Chelsea career looked to be over when Antonio Conte, only for the new manager to change his position and watch the Nigerian wide-man flourish as a wing-back.

READ ALSO : Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first player in history to score 100 European club goals.

Antonio Valencia
Antonio Valencia
Such is Antonio Valencia's transformation in recent years, the Manchester United player is no longer considered a 'makeshift' right-back, but one of the very best full-backs in the Premier League who might count himself unlucky not to be selected for the 2016/17 Team of the Year.

Valencia has always been strong and athletic, a perfect Jose Mourinho player in that sense, but he's added defensive intelligence to his game to completely redefine his role on the pitch.

Arturo Vidal
 Arturo Vidal

A young Arturo Vidal arrived in Europe from South America as just a shadow of the fearsome and intimidating midfield force that he is for Bayern Munich today.

Now heavily tattooed and sporting an aggressive Mohawk, the Chilean looked much more innocent back then, even if his tackles still carried plenty of bite. These days, Vidal strikes fear into his opponents before they've even walked onto the pitch.

Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale

As a skinny 17-year-old, Gareth Bale was hardly noticeable when he joined Tottenham from Southampton back in 2007. But by the time he got to his second season at Real Madrid, the Welsh superstar had transformed himself into a supreme physical specimen.

In Spain, he's added muscle mass and great physical strength to an already stellar array of technical attributes to undoubtedly become one of the best players in the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo

A shirt-less Ronaldo celebrating after scoring in the 2014 Champions League final remains one of modern football's most iconic and enduring images.

Much like Real Madrid team-mate Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo has undergone an incredible physical transformation over the years after leaving behind his ungainly teenage frame and developing into a well oiled physical machine.

Real Madrid To Replace Zinedine Zidane, Names Replacement Target

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane
Despite the top form play this season, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has been highly criticized in the last couple of months.
Players, for example, James Rodriguez and Isco have turned out to be dispirited with their absence of playing time and Zidane's insistence on playing the front three of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo to their detriment has drawn a considerable measure of criticism with every one of the three players showing inconsistent form at times this season. The Frenchman has even admitted in interviews that he is not worried that he will be sacked and that he completely anticipates that it will occur sooner or later in his career at the club.
Zidane only took charge at Real in January last year and won the Champions League in his first season.
As indicated by Spanish daily paper AS, Real Madrid will sack Zidane if the club fails to win any trophy this season. Sunday's El Clasico loss to Barcelona is said to have harmed his credibility at the club. He got overwhelming feedback from the Spanish press after playing a half-fit Bale who was removed in the 38th minute after another injury.
Real Marid are currently tied with Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table despite the fact that Los Blancos have a game in hand. They are also in the semifinals of the Champions League, set to play local rivals Atletico Madrid. On the off chance that Zidane does in certainty get sacked, one potential target is German national team manager Joachim Low. In spite of the fact that his agreement with Germany endures until 2020, there is a clause that allows him to leave if there is an agreement with a noteworthy European club.
Chelsea coach Antonio Conte and Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino have also been linked with the Real Madrid job.

Marseille ready to ‘offer up to £20 million for Arsenal’s Super Star

Marseille want Olivier Giroud from Arsenal this summer

Marseille are supposedly eager to offer up to £20 million in their attempt to sign Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud this late spring.

Giroud has scored 13 times this season in all competitions yet there remain worries among Gunners supporters with respect to the Frenchman's lack of consistency.

The 30-year-old signed another contract with Arsenal earlier this season that is set to keep running until the late spring of 2019 and remains a key part of Arsene Wenger's plans, however it stays to be seen whether the club would be enticed to sell him should an adequate offer be made.

Marseille are resolved to sign Giroud, as reported by Sky Sports, and are urgent to rejuvenate their striking alternatives, with a few of their current forwards – Bafetimbi Gomis, Clinton N'Jie and Aaron Leya Iseka – at the club on loan.

On the off chance that Marseille signed Giroud then he would absolutely be an update on Gomis and N'Jie, with the Arsenal player having scored more goals per game, provided more assists and won more duels than Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur loanees.

Antoine Griezmann “thinking” about Manchester United approach but €100m release clause is “unavoidable” – agent

Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann

Manchester United target Antoine Griezmann is right now weighing up his alternatives in front of the late spring exchange window, agent Eric Olhats has affirmed.

Griezmann developed as one of the diversion's most looked for after abilities a year ago, subsequent to managing Atletico Madrid to the Champions League finals and France to the Euro 2016 finals.

Despite the fact that he lost both of those showpiece events, Los Rojiblancos' No.7 is delighted in much individual achievement, for example, winning the European Championships Golden Boot and placing third in the Ballon d'Or voting.

According to Squawka, Jose Mourinho distinguished Griezmann as his top transfer focus in January, and is set up to break the world-record transfer fee for the second year running.

The player’s representative has now revealed that the Red Devils and Real Madrid have made contact over a move, though the 26-year-old is not actively pushing for a transfer.

Eric Olhats told Telefoot (via the Manchester Evening News): “United told us about their project – [their inquiry was] the first and the most solid.

"We're pondering the most reasonable offers. Real Madrid and other clubs are a part of this reasoning process. There is an existing clause of €100m, which is unavoidable.

"Antoine wouldn't like to leave the club at any cost. That is false."

Griezmann got the winning goal for Atletico against Espanyol in La Liga this weekend, his club's sights are solidly on a Champions League semi-last against Real Madrid one month from now.

"Chelsea star Victor Moses has turned into a superb player this season" - Garth Crooks

Chelsea star Victor Moses in action

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Garth Crooks has hailed Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses for being a “revelation” this season.

Moses had previously appeared to have no long-term future at Stamford Bridge but has reinvented himself this campaign and produced a superb display as Chelsea overcame Tottenham on Saturday to reach the FA Cup final.
Possessing pace and power in abundance, Moses caused many problems for Tottenham’s defence at Wembley and won a penalty after he was fouled by Son Heung-min.

“What a revelation Victor Moses has been for Chelsea this season,” Crooks told BBC Sport.
“We all know he can play when he has the ball at his feet but few would have credited him as a player capable of holding down a position with such serious defending responsibilities.”
Moses may have thrived in an unfamiliar role this season but the same cannot be said for Son, whom Crooks says was “outsmarted” by his Chelsea rival on Saturday.
The BBC pundit continued: “His performance against Tottenham’s Son Heung-min in the FA Cup semi-final was impressive. Moses outsmarted the naïve Son, who went to ground far too early in the box, allowing Moses to take advantage of the inevitable contact for a penalty.
“The former Crystal Palace winger has come a long way since his days as a loan player with Stoke, Liverpool and West Ham. Since the arrival of manager Antonio Conte he has looked supreme at wing-back for the Blues.
“Occasionally you find players who can make the transition from one position to another but it’s very seldom you find a player who makes his name performing a particular function, but then becomes an even better player when asked to perform another role. Moses has become that player.”
Moses has excelled both defensively and going forwards this season – he has averaged four defensive actions per game while also creating 21 chances in total.
The 26-year-old will hope to help Chelsea conclude the campaign strongly, with Antonio Conte’s side looking to win the double.
Chelsea are four points clear at the top of the Premier League and can take another step towards clinching the title when they host Southampton on Tuesday night.

Liverpool targeting Hull City defender Andy Robertson

Hull City defender Andy Robertson

Liverpool are said to be ‘closing in’ on transfer of Hull City defender Andy Robertson

Hull City have coped far superior than anticipated in the Premier League this term, as of now floating over the relegation zone in spite of bearing a little squad.
As expected, numerous Tigers players have been connected with moves away, in the midst of constant disappointment from fans towards the club's owners.
According to the Daily Mail, the Humberside team's squad is set to be desolated assist in the upcoming transfer window, with Liverpool on a move for Robertson.
The left-back would cost around £8 million, the source proposes, with previous club Dundee United due a 10% fortune by means of their sell-on clause.
The report asserts that Hull's No.3 is viewed as a swap for James Milner, whose flexibility has been abused as a remain in full-back all through the battle by Jurgen Klopp.

The left-back would cost around £8 million, the source sugge, with former club Dundee United due a 10% windfall via their sell-on clause.
The report claims that Hull’s No.3 is seen as a replacement for James Milner, whose versatility has been abused as a full-back throughout the campaign by Jurgen Klopp.

Osasuna forced to wear brand-new kit in upcoming Barcelona away game

Osasuna in action

Osasuna has been made to wear an all new kit at the Camp Nou on Wednesday as they clash with Barcelona‘s home strip.

Osasuna already have concerns of trying to stay in the division as they are currently at the bottom of the La Liga table but now must seek another kit as they prepare for the daunting task of facing a Barca side that will be full of confidence following their dramatic 3-2 win over Real Madrid in Sunday night’s El Clasico.
As revealed by the club's Twitter account today, Osasuna will wear a new orange kit against the Blaugrana side with a specific end goal to meet solicitations made by Spanish football's TV and broadcasting partners.
Osasuna have worn a green kit on numerous occasions away from home this season – most notably in their most recent trip to the Vicente Calderon earlier in the month when they suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Atletico Madrid.
They will go into the game against Barca, who they crashed 3-0 to in the reverse meeting earlier in the season – on the back of a 2-2 draw with Sporting Gijon in a result that has left them nine points adrift of safety in La Liga.

Gareth Bale And Lionel Messi Out Due To Injury

Lionel Messi injury El Clasico

Lionel Messi required medical attention in Sunday’s 3-2 Clasico win when a first-half clash with Marcelo left the Barcelona superstar bloodied.
Messi and Marcelo jostled for a ball in the 20th minute and the Brazilian left-back’s raised elbow caught the No. 10 in the face.
Argentina international Messi stayed down with blood streaming from his mouth.
He was then taken to the touchline where he received attention from members of the Barca medical staff, returning to the match moments later with gauze in his mouth.
Messi was seen sporting a black eye and missing teeth after the match, according to Press Association.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner then scored in the 33rd minute with a fine solo goal to even the score at 1-1, and later scored a superb winner in the second minute of stoppage time to send Barca to victory.
Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale

Meanwhile, Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale was forced to limp out of the match with what appeared to be a calf injury in the 39th minute.
The Wales international sat on the ground, holding his lower leg before being taken off for Marco Asensio.
Bale had suffered a calf problem in Real’s Champions League win at Bayern Munich earlier this month and did not feature in either the Liga win at Sporting Gijon or the second leg against Bayern.

Lionel Messi Scores his 500th Barcelona Goal at santiago-bernabeu

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi blew the La Liga title race wide open as his 500th Barcelona goal stunned Real Madrid by giving the Catalans a 3-2 El Clasico win at the Bernabeu.

Messi — sporting a black eye and missing teeth following Marcelo’s first-half challenge on him — struck twice with his winner coming from the last kick of the match.
Ivan Rakitic had earlier given Barcelona a 2-1 lead, while Casemiro and James Rodriguez were on target for hosts Real, who had skipper Sergio Ramos sent off 13 minutes from time for a two-footed challenge on Messi.
Barcelona go top because they have a better head-to-head record than Real, although Zinedine Zidane’s men have a game in hand and therefore six matches left to play to the Catalans’ five.
In an end-to-end contest, Real took a 28th-minute lead when Ramos hooked his shot against the post and Casemiro slid the rebound into an empty net.
But Barcelona were level within five minutes when Rakitic’s pass picked out Messi and the Argentinian swerved past Dani Carvajal to finish unerringly past Keylor Navas.
Gareth Bale was forced off through injury on his 100th La Liga appearance, but that was a rare stop in the action with both Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Navas making excellent stops.
But Navas had no chance keeping out Rakitic’s 73rd-minute piledriver and it got worse for Real when Ramos received a Clasico red card for the second successive season.
The challenge on Messi did not make contact with the Barcelona player, but the two-footed tackle was wild and reckless and worthy of a straight red card.
Rodriguez, who had only been on the pitch three minutes, looked as if he had handed Real a point when he converted Marcelo’s cross from close range.
But then Messi met Jordi Alba’s cross from eight yards out to find the bottom right-hand corner of Navas’ net.

David de Gea reignites Man Utd Exit Rumours After Putting £3.85m Mansion up for Sale

David de Gea's mansion has been put up for sale

David de Gea's £3.85m home has been put up for sale, fuelling speculation that he could leave Manchester United in the summer.

There have been claims in recent weeks that De Gea has fallen out with manager Jose Mourinho, who has picked Sergio Romero frequently in recent weeks.
Images on the Sun's website show the goalkeeper's £3.85m home in all its glory as Real Madrid step up their interest in a £60m move this summer.

David de Gea's mansion has been put up for sale
The Bowdon, Greater Manchester, mansion was listed on an estate agents website and features a swimming pool, tennis courts and its own trophy cabinet. The Spaniard has been a important part of United's team over the last few years but could finally be set to leave the club this summer, with Real Madrid keen to replace Keylor Navas as their primary goalie.
David de Gea's mansion has been put up for sale
A source told the Sun: "De Gea has been the heart and soul throughout United’s dreadful life after Sir Alex Ferguson – and seeing him on the move will be a blow to fans. "While manager Jose denies any deals between the player and clubs, it seems another transfer market is alive and kicking. "De Gea has achieved hero status at Old Trafford and wherever he moves he’ll always have a home there."

Everton beat Liverpool and Spurs for £20m Michael Keane

Burnley's Michael Keane

Everton believe that they head the race to sign Michael Keane from Burnley this summer despite interest from Liverpool and Tottenham.

Burnley have accepted that they are set to lose Keane this summer having convinced the defender to remain at Turf Moor last summer even though Leicester City were keen on signing the centre-back.
The 24-year-old is ready to test himself at one of the division’s top clubs and has been linked with a move to either Tottenham or Liverpool, while former club Manchester United might also be an option.
But, according to the Daily Mail, it is Everton that are leading the way in the race for Keane’s signature with the Toffees and Burnley enjoying positive talks about a move.
A deal reportedly in the region of £20 million is set to be agreed with former side United entitled to 25% of that due to a sell-on agreement.
Ronald Koeman’s Everton side seem to be locked in a battle for fifth alongside United and Arsenal, and will face West Ham this weekend.

Juventus Sign Uruguayan Starlet Rodrigo Bentancur on 5-Year Deal From Boca Juniors

Rodrigo Bentancur

Serie A champions Juventus have confirmed the signing of midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur from Argentine side Boca Juniors.

The 19-year-old signed a five-year deal with the club on Friday, which will begin rolling on July 1.

Juve will pay Boca Juniors €9.5m over the next two years, but the fee could rise depending on his length of stay - and the South American outfit will be due 50 per cent of his transfer fee if the player is ever sold by Juventus.
A statement on the club's official website reads: "Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with Asociación Civil Club Atlético Boca Juniors for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Rodrigo Bentancur Colman has been finalised. The transfer fee of € 9.5m will be payable in two financial years.

"The purchase value may increase in the course of the duration of the contract on achieving given conditions based on a certain number of official games played by the player. Moreover, in case of a later transfer of the player, Boca Juniors will be entitled to receive 50% of the amounts collected by Juventus.

"Juventus and the player have signed a 5-year contract of employment starting from 1 July 2017 and expiring on 30 June 2022."

Real Madrid Set to Offer Star Man to Manchester United in De Gea Part-Exchange Deal

Real Madrid are said to be set to offer James Rodriguez to Manchester United in order to get a discount on the £60m price tag Manchester United have put on David de Gea.

Notorious Spanish rumourmongers Don Balon claim that Real boss Zinedine Zidane wants De Gea to replace current goalkeeper Keylor Navas in the summer, and club president Florentino Perez is reported to want the deal to be completed quickly in order to avoid another drawn out transfer saga.
Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the Colombian international, who has struggled for playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu and is apparently looking to leave the La Liga giants. Perez is fully aware that Jose Mourinho is interested in the 25-year-old's services, and he is hoping to use that in order to sign De Gea, as a part exchange deal could suit both parties.

United are not willing to let de Gea leave for less than £60m, but Real believe that they will be able to get that asking price down if they offer Rodriguez in the deal. If Real were to pay £60m for United's number one, they would be almost doubling the world record fee for a goalkeeper, eclipsing the £32m fee Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001.
United signed De Gea from Real's city rivals Atletico for £18m in 2011, with the stopper going on to make 264 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

Rodriguez, who has scored 19 goals in 54 caps for Colombia, cost Real around €80m, becoming the most expensive Colombian in history - surpassing the €60m fee that Monaco payed Atletico for Radamel Falcao.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos asked Robert Lewandowski to join them at Real Madrid

After Real Madrid’s win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos were reportedly seen asking Robert Lewandowski to sign for Los Blancos. President Florentino Pérez also spoke with the forward to ask about his family and wish him luck for the rest of the season.

According to a Spanish journalist Guillem Balagué, Ramos and Ronaldo told Lewandowski that “there was room for him” in Madrid after the match at Santiago Bernabeu. The Pole has scored 39 goals in 41 games this season for Bayern, while Madrid currently have Karim Benzema, Alvaro Morata, and Mariano Diaz who can play in his position.
Pérez has been keen on Lewandowski to join Los Blancos for a while now and their brief chat can be a sign of things to come in the summer. Bayern have only extended the striker’s contract few weeks ago to 2021, which made him the best paid player in the Bundesliga.
However, despite the extension, the player still has an interest in leaving the Bavarian giants for the Spanish capital. His agent revealed last year that Lewandowski has held talks over the potential move, while his sister gifted him with a shirt in Los Blancos colors. He has yet to win the elusive Champions League title so far and Madrid’s dominance in the competition seems very attractive to him.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Man Utd Future in Doubt as Report Suggests Forward Could Be Out Until January

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester United look likely to be counting the cost of their extra time win over Anderlecht for some time, with news emerging on Friday evening of Zlatan Ibrahimovic being ruled out until next January.
The Swedish forward hurt himself by landing awkwardly during the Red Devils' Europa League quarter-final tie against Anderlecht on Thursday, with scans revealed badly damaged knee ligaments - and ESPN reporting that the damage could keep the Swede out until 2018.

"I don't think they are easy injuries, but I prefer to wait for all the tests to be done tomorrow," manager Jose Mourinho explained after the match - which United won 2-1 to progress to the next round of games.

Marcos Rojo also suffered an injury in the match, having received a blow to his knee. And Mourinho was not in the least bit optimistic about his stars. "I want to wait. My feeling is not great for both," he added. "I want to be optimistic, but I'm not. I can't say any more than that, I am not a doctor."
The news on Ibrahimovic could have a serious impact on the club's long-term planning, with the club and Ibrahimovic still weighing up the option to extend his contract into next season.

To date, he had refused to commit his future to the club, even recently suggesting that they did not match his ambitions - and club officials failed to confirm to ESPN whether the club would be obliged to hand over an extra year's salary in light of the injury.

If the reports are indeed correct, then this sets the forward up perfectly for his long-awaited introduction to MLS, as their season begins in early in the calendar year
Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in 46 appearances for Mourinho's side this season, and his absence - despite the brilliance of Marcus Rashford - could really hurt their Champions League hopes.

Real Madrid have so many stars they can put eleven players out on the pitch and the rest will take care of itself, according to former Barcelona midfielder Ronald De Boer.
Los Blancos are currently sitting top of the La Liga table with a three-point advantage over their bitter rivals and are once again in the Champions League semi-final – where they’ll face Atletico Madrid in a repeat of the 2014 & 2016 final.
De Boer, who spent one and a half seasons at the Camp Nou in the late 90’s, has hailed the strength of Zinedine Zidane’s squad and feels the Frenchman has stabilised the entire squad this year and insists the best players in the world are in Spain.
“The best club players in the world are playing at the Spanish clubs,” De Boer is quoted by Football Espana.
“In the last few years the Spanish teams have dominated in Europe and there’s been nobody close to Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, but the best players in the world are at the Spanish clubs.
“Real Madrid are quite stable this year – there is no speculation over the manager and relatively little over the players, and performances might not be fantastic but they’re generally strong.
“They can score from every position, they have so many stars – they can just put eleven players on the pitch and they will play with each other.
“Barcelona are more in my eyes a team with a stronger template of how they want to play and perform, at the minute I believe the two are equal.”
With El Clasico on the horizon, Madrid warmed up for the meeting with a 4-2 win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening – in a game that was shrouded in controversy as two of Cristiano Ronaldo’s three goals should have been ruled out for offside.
Victory over the Catalan giants will be a big boost for Zidane as he bids to bring the title back to the Santiago Bernabeu for the first time since the 2011/2012 season as they would move six points clear and still have a game in hand.

The Real Reason Why Real Madrid Fans Whistle Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo sad face

During Tuesday’s match with Bayern Munich, Cristiano Ronaldo was subject to whistling from a decent amount of supporters. While this isn’t uncommon for him, it does raise the question: why do fans whistle at Ronaldo? He has performed so well for Real Madrid, winning the Ballon D’Or several times while being there, and helping to bring home two Champions League trophies as well as a La Liga title under Mourinho in the 2011-2012 season.
It is also common for Ronaldo to have a 30 goal season, far and away Real Madrid’s top scorer. So why do Real Madrid fans berate him on the pitch? The most obvious reason is that he has set the bar so high for himself, that anything less than superb is considered a flunk by the Madrid supporters.
While that is part of the reason for Ronaldo’s poor treatment, it also has to do with the winger’s ego. Ronaldo occasionally takes a page out of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s book and refers to himself in the third person, almost as if speaking about a deity. However, Ibrahimovic has managed to coin this as part of his personality and has earned praise for his confidence. Also, the Swede manages to make it humorous, something his fans have come to love. Ronaldo is a bit more on the arrogant side when it comes to speaking about his success
When Ronaldo hears the whistles, he puts his finger to his lips in front of the fans, as if challenging them. He lets them get to his head, despite insisting that he is confident in his capabilities. At that level, you must be above the the lowly fans who can’t understand the concept of a dip in form. Firing back at them will only encourage more child like behavior. Ultimately, Ronaldo is whistled because of his arrogance, the supporters’ impossibly high standards, and his own inability to tune out the noise.

Schalke Star Is Arsenal Bound After Undergoing Medical & Agreeing Personal Terms

Sead Kolasinac

According to reports in The Sun, the 23-year-old has already passed a medical and agreed personal terms with the North London club.
Kolasinac's Schalke contract expires on June 30 and he is expected to link up with the Gunners immediately after. Arsenal have won the race to sign him, after warding off competition for his signature from Chelsea and Juventus.

Goal.com reports that he was “in London two weeks ago for a sponsorship event and underwent medical tests during his short stay in the capital”, while the Daily Mail report that he has agreed a four-year contract.
The 23-year-old has spent his entire career in the Bundesliga, but is now set for a new adventure playing in the Premier League.
He has played 117 times for the German giants, and has 18 international caps to his name, and has experience playing in the Champions League.
Kolasinac is expected to be the first of a slew of players arriving in North London, as Arsenal are preparing to overhaul their squad following a very disappointing campaign for the Gunners.
The news of a new signing comes despite the future of manager Arsene Wenger remaining up in the air. There are conflicting reports as to whether the Frenchman has signed a new contract that has been offered to him, and what the length of the supposed deal is.
Arsenal look likely to miss out on the top four for the first time in Arsene Wenger's 21 year reign. There is serious discontent in the stands, with fans fiercely divided over their manager's future. But the board appeared to have their focus elsewhere, signing players for whoever is sitting in the dugout next season.
