Manchester United advised to prioritise Griezmann signing over Rodriguez

Manchester United advised to prioritise Griezmann signing over Rodriguez

Manchester United have been advised to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Antonie Griezmann rather than Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez by club's legend Rio Ferdinand.

Ferdinand told BT Sport: “For what Manchester United need, I would go for Griezmann.

“They’ve got [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan and [Juan] Mata – players who can play in that number 10 role, where Rodriguez likes to operate – so I would go for Griezmann.”

United spent heavily last summer to sign Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, they are expected to bring in more players if they expected to be a strong contender for the Premier League next season.

Manchester United secured a spot in the Champions League on Wednesday after winning Ajax in the Europa League final.

Real Madrid Duo Set For Manchester United Move!

Real Madrid Squad

As reported by ESPN FC, two Real Madrid stars are making the move to Old Trafford this summer.

James Rodriguez left the pitch against Sevilla on Sunday with a body language that looked as if he were saying his final goodbyes to the Bernabéu (Sunday's match against Sevilla was Real's last home game of the season). He slowly left and applauded with fans in what felt like a parting of ways.
Rodriguez would be brought into United as an attacking midfielder, possibly to replace the gap Rooney will leave should he depart United after a long term of service this summer. United fans will be sad to see the all-time top scorer go but will be ecstatic to gain the dynamic style Rodriguez brings to the pitch.

James Rodriguez Move To Man United

Rodriguez would move to United as an attacking midfielder, possibly to fill the hole Rooney would leave if he leaves United this summer. United fans will be sad to see the all-time top goal scorer go but will be ecstatic to gain the dynamic style Rodriguez brings to United.

Possibly joining Rodriguez on the way to United is Gareth Bale.  Every year there is a rumor that Bale is going to United. Real Madrid have an overpowered squad at the moment, which is creating a lot of competition for starting positions and overall game time. Bale has suffered setbacks due to his injuries, and other players have stepped up in his absence. And the Welshman will want his play time, which United can provide.
This pair joining the Red Devils would be massive for the English club, who have dropped in form since the departure of Ferguson 4 years ago. With Bale on the wing and Rodriguez in midfield, Mourinho might have the squad he needs to bring United back to the top.

Top Premier League club to sign James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez to sign for Manchester United.

Colombian superstar James Rodriguez has reached an agreement with Premier League giants Manchester United.

As reported by Colombian news agency RCN, the Real Marid star will play for Jose Mourinho's team next season subsequent to getting bolstered up at Real Madrid having been benched most of the season at Real Marid

This is only an assention between Manchester United and the player. The clubs are yet to begin talk on this transfer.

The report also revealed that the arrangement will only go on if Wayne Rooney leaves the club.

Rooney's future is in uncertainty after playing a bit part role for Man United this season, in spite of the fact that the English striker wants to remain at the club. Mourinho feels Rooney is an excess load on the club and thinks James to be the perfect substitution of the Man United legend.

Manchester United were occupied with James Rodriguez even before he was signed by Real Madrid after the World Cup.

The Red Devils are reportedly topping the bid beating Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.

James is among various Real Madrid players who want to play consistent first team football, Isco and Alvaro Morata being the other two. With Man United prepared to spend big this summer,  the attacking midfielder won't be the only big name landing in Old Trafford this summer.

Man United have additionally been targeting Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann, among various other players.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he needs 3-4 world class signings in order to challenge on all fronts next season.

After a poor outing this season, even if there is a possibility that Man United might win the Europa League, Mourinho is set on boosting his team that will genuinely challenge for the Premier League for next season.

Lionel Messi Scores his 500th Barcelona Goal at santiago-bernabeu

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi blew the La Liga title race wide open as his 500th Barcelona goal stunned Real Madrid by giving the Catalans a 3-2 El Clasico win at the Bernabeu.

Messi — sporting a black eye and missing teeth following Marcelo’s first-half challenge on him — struck twice with his winner coming from the last kick of the match.
Ivan Rakitic had earlier given Barcelona a 2-1 lead, while Casemiro and James Rodriguez were on target for hosts Real, who had skipper Sergio Ramos sent off 13 minutes from time for a two-footed challenge on Messi.
Barcelona go top because they have a better head-to-head record than Real, although Zinedine Zidane’s men have a game in hand and therefore six matches left to play to the Catalans’ five.
In an end-to-end contest, Real took a 28th-minute lead when Ramos hooked his shot against the post and Casemiro slid the rebound into an empty net.
But Barcelona were level within five minutes when Rakitic’s pass picked out Messi and the Argentinian swerved past Dani Carvajal to finish unerringly past Keylor Navas.
Gareth Bale was forced off through injury on his 100th La Liga appearance, but that was a rare stop in the action with both Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Navas making excellent stops.
But Navas had no chance keeping out Rakitic’s 73rd-minute piledriver and it got worse for Real when Ramos received a Clasico red card for the second successive season.
The challenge on Messi did not make contact with the Barcelona player, but the two-footed tackle was wild and reckless and worthy of a straight red card.
Rodriguez, who had only been on the pitch three minutes, looked as if he had handed Real a point when he converted Marcelo’s cross from close range.
But then Messi met Jordi Alba’s cross from eight yards out to find the bottom right-hand corner of Navas’ net.

Real Madrid Set to Offer Star Man to Manchester United in De Gea Part-Exchange Deal

Real Madrid are said to be set to offer James Rodriguez to Manchester United in order to get a discount on the £60m price tag Manchester United have put on David de Gea.

Notorious Spanish rumourmongers Don Balon claim that Real boss Zinedine Zidane wants De Gea to replace current goalkeeper Keylor Navas in the summer, and club president Florentino Perez is reported to want the deal to be completed quickly in order to avoid another drawn out transfer saga.
Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the Colombian international, who has struggled for playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu and is apparently looking to leave the La Liga giants. Perez is fully aware that Jose Mourinho is interested in the 25-year-old's services, and he is hoping to use that in order to sign De Gea, as a part exchange deal could suit both parties.

United are not willing to let de Gea leave for less than £60m, but Real believe that they will be able to get that asking price down if they offer Rodriguez in the deal. If Real were to pay £60m for United's number one, they would be almost doubling the world record fee for a goalkeeper, eclipsing the £32m fee Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001.
United signed De Gea from Real's city rivals Atletico for £18m in 2011, with the stopper going on to make 264 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

Rodriguez, who has scored 19 goals in 54 caps for Colombia, cost Real around €80m, becoming the most expensive Colombian in history - surpassing the €60m fee that Monaco payed Atletico for Radamel Falcao.
