Everton Keen On Re-Signing Ross Barkley

According to the Mirror, Everton star Ross Barkley has been offered a new deal thought to be around £100,000 per week.

The deal could see the England International become the highest paid player at Goodison Park.

The Toffees has remained keen on trying to secure The services of the  English man, although Manager Ronald Korean has said He only wants players who are 100% committed to the club.

Barkley has been a regular at Everton, netting 27 times in 129 appearances.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has said that he longs for one day managing Barcelona.

Koeman had an amazing spell with the Catalan club as a player, winning the Champions League, four La Liga titles and the Copa Del Rey.
With manager Luis Enrique leaving Barcelona at the finish of the season, there have been rumours that Koeman could be his successor.
Koeman told Sport: "You see, everybody realizes that I am from Barca, they know my affection for a club where I grew up as a player and as a man.
"See, in my life as a professional coach I have two dreams to satisfy. One, Coach the choice of my nation, Holland. I have been able to do so, however my commitment to Everton has avoided me.
"My other wish, my other dream, is to one day coach Barca.
"Yes, since I now owe to Everton. We have a capable and energizing project and we will put in our best to attempt to reach the Champions League next season."
Asked whether Barcelona could approach him, Koeman included: "That is a speculation in which we can't enter excessively. In football, as in life, as in business, everything can be discussed and talked about."
Be that as it may, speaking at a press conference yesterday, the 54-year-old proposed that he is completely dedicated to Everton for the length of his agreement, which keeps running until the mid year of 2019.
According to BBC Sport, he said: "It's human for players and managers however that is not changing my agreement. Everton is huge project and I want to be a part of it. I'm really happy, I'm looking forward to next season.
"There is zero chance I will leave Everton before finishing contract. I don't see me being the next manager of barca."
Koeman is as of now centered around matters at Everton, with the Toffees in seventh place in the Premier League. They confront Swansea City away on Saturday and will be determined to finish the campaign strongly before turning their attention towards building for next season.

Everton beat Liverpool and Spurs for £20m Michael Keane

Everton believe that they head the race to sign Michael Keane from Burnley this summer despite interest from Liverpool and Tottenham.

Burnley have accepted that they are set to lose Keane this summer having convinced the defender to remain at Turf Moor last summer even though Leicester City were keen on signing the centre-back.

The 24-year-old is ready to test himself at one of the division’s top clubs and has been linked with a move to either Tottenham or Liverpool, while former club Manchester United might also be an option.
But, according to the Daily Mail, it is Everton that are leading the way in the race for Keane’s signature with the Toffees and Burnley enjoying positive talks about a move.

A deal reportedly in the region of £20 million is set to be agreed with former side United entitled to 25% of that due to a sell-on agreement.
Ronald Koeman’s Everton side seem to be locked in a battle for fifth alongside United and Arsenal, and will face West Ham this weekend.

Ross Barkley should stay at Everton

Everton and England midfielder Ross Barkley has endured a rollercoaster week.
First, there was an altercation in a Liverpool night club and then an attack by a so called journalist who compared the midfielder to a Gorilla.
He finished the week on a high, though, by doing what he does best by being influential for Everton in a 3-1 home against Burnley on Saturday.
It was the sort of display that the midfielder has produced on many occasions this season, but that Toffees fans would like to see on a more consistent basis.


Loved at Everton
Ross Barkley seems to divide opinion. At times he can look brilliant, but his decision making is often questioned. However, he is undoubtedly a very talent footballer and hopefully, he will only improve in the future. Despite criticism by Evertonian’s, he is loved.
He is one of our own, as Spurs fans sing about Harry Kane. Barkley has been at the club virtually his whole life and is a lifelong blue. He is the player that represents the Everton fans on the pitch. The midfielder is the lifelong blue fulfilling his dream of playing for his beloved team.
Barkley seems to get just as frustrated as the fans when a pass goes astray or he makes a poor decision. To his credit, his decision making on the pitch is improving. I just hope he chooses his waterholes more carefully in future, though!

Doubts about his future at Everton
Barkley may be blue through and through. However, there are doubts about whether the midfielder will be at the club next season. He will have just 12 months left on his contract in the summer and boss Ronald Koeman has not minced his words about the situation.

The Dutchman has stated that the situation is simple; the 23-year-old will sign a new contract or he is sold. Like Everton fans the Koeman will not want to lose the attacking midfielder, as losing him would mean having to try and find a replacement in the summer.
Despite Barkley being criticised, he is still highly-regarded. Tottenham have been linked with a £30million move for the midfielder this summer. Morning reports suggest that Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho is also eying up a summer move for Barkley.
The noises coming out of the Barkley camp echo those coming out of the Romelu Lukaku camp, the old ‘I want Champions League’ football.

Everton left it slightly too late
Unfortunately for the Blues, it seems they have left it slightly too late to qualify for the Champions League this season. The Toffees are fifth in the Premier League table and trail arch-rivals Liverpool who are fourth by six points. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have a game in hand.
The teams below Everton in sixth and seventh, Manchester United and Arsenal respectively have three games in-hand on the Toffees. The Merseysiders are now paying for a mid-season run of just one win in 13 games. A few more wins and they could now be serious contenders for a top-four place.

For the club to progress, they need to strengthen and most of all keep hold of their best players, both Barkley and Lukaku fall into that category. The midfielder’s situation is slightly different to Lukaku.
The Belgian striker may like Everton. However, he has no major emotional ties to the Merseyside club. Barkley, on the other hand, has emotional ties to both the club and the city.
This summer Barkley faces a big decision. The majority of Everton fans love him and he loves the club. However, if he feels that he is not going to fulfil his ambitions with the Toffees then he may well move on in the summer, which could be to the detriment of everybody involved.

Barkley celebrates wildly as he ends tough week on a high by helping Everton to victory over Burnley

Ross Barkley ended a turbulent week as Everton's matchwinning hero as Ronald Koeman's side maintained their 100 per cent record at Goodison Park this year to move up to fifth place in the Premier League.

Barkley's 71st minute strike contained enough power to survive a double deflection off Michael Keane and Ben Mee and fly past Tom Heaton for the decisive second goal in a hard-fought Everton victory.

The ecstatic 23-year-old celebrated by standing on an advertising hoarding in front of the Gwlayds End, saluting their support and repeatedly beating his chest on the Everton badge, a gesture he repeated as he was booked by referee Mark Clattenburg for his celebration.

Barkley has been in the headlines all week after being punched in a Liverpool bar after he went out last weekend following Everton's victory against Leicester City.

A column by Kelvin Mackenzie in The Sun newspaper, already detested on Merseyside for their coverage of the Hillsborough tragedy exactly 28 years ago, compared Barkley to a gorilla, leading the club to ban the newspaper from their stadium and training ground.

Though it will take video replays to decide on whether the goal will officially be credited to Barkley or as a Mee own goal, there was no disputing the Mersey midfielder's contribution was decisive.

Inevitably, he was given an emotional standing ovation when he was replaced by Ademola Lookman in the final minute of the regulation 90.

Before his goal, Barkley had almost tried too hard in possession but also made two goal-line clearances to help his team.

Ultimately, Everton were worthy winners having seen their lead from Phil Jagielka's opener cancelled out almost immediately by a Sam Vokes penalty following a blunder by Joel Robles.

Romelu Lukaku sealed the points with his obligatory goal, No 24 in the Premier League which keeps him ahead in the race for the Golden Boot.

Burnley haven't won away from Turf Moor this season and needed Tom Heaton to save early on from Lukaku after a dash forward by right-back Mason Holgate.

Barkley was in the right place to head away a Keane header off the line after 15 minutes while boyhood Everton fan Joey Barton annoyed the home fans for a foul on Lukaku, though he was let off with a warning by referee Mark Clattenburg, officiating his first Premier League game since announcing in February he was to take a new job in Saudi Arabia.

Ronald Koeman - Romelu Lukaku will not sign new Everton deal.

Romelu Lukaku has told Everton that he will not be signing a new contract with the club amid rumours of a potential transfer, according to Ronald Koeman.

Lukaku – the Premier League’s leading goalscorer with 23 goals – has a contract with Everton until 2019 but his future at Goodison Park has been the subject of speculation since last summer.

The Belgian international has been heavily linked with a move back to former club Chelsea and, while Koeman had previously been optimistic that the 23-year-old would agree terms on an extension on Merseyside, the Dutchman has now indicated that this won’t be the case.

Speaking at his press-conference on Thursday Koeman revealed: “He told me he won’t sign a new contract.”

Lukaku – who has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award – has already decided on the move he wants to make in the summer, according to former teammate and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

Those suggestions have not sat well with Koeman though as the manager was asked about Lukaku’s plans in an interview with Sky Sports, to which he responded: “No [I don’t know where Lukaku wants to go]. Maybe I wait for the call from Drogba to tell me where he wants to go.”
