Arsenal to sign Eupen youngster for £6.8million

According to Sky Sport, Premier League giant Arsenal has agreed on a £6.8million deal with KAS Eupen for Henry Onyekuru.

There have been talks between the two clubs for over a week now.

Although personal terms have not been met yet, there have been reports that the two club are close to landing a deal on the Nigerian striker.

The 19-year-old striker is said to be an avid Arsenal fan and is keen on moving on to the Emirates.

Onyekuru ended his season at the Belgium club as the highest goal scorer in the Jupiler League scoring 25 times.

Onyekuru who is currently in Nigeria on International duty has also attracted interest from other Premier League sides including Everton, Southampton, West Ham and West Brom.  However, it is the Gunners that has activated his £6.8million release clause.

I was convinced to join West Ham - Manuel Lanzini

New West Ham signing Pablo Zabaleta has revealed that he was convinced to join the club by Manuel Lanzini.

Speaking to the club's official website, Zabaleta said: “I spoke a few times with him and of course I’m so happy to see Manu [Lanzini] doing that well.”

“I think he had an incredible season and is on the list for the two games for the national team, which is really good for him.

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said he would rather win the Premier League than the FA Cup.

The Ex-Arsenal player aimed a jibe at his former club after losing the FA Cup Final to Arsenal 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday.

Speaking to the Mirror, Fabregas said

:“It wasn’t easy to lose, but it was still a good season.

“We go home with a bad taste. But we would prefer to win the Premier League to the FA Cup, so it is still a good season.”

Fabregas played for Arsenal between 2003 - 2011, netting 35 times in 212 appearances.

UEFA Champions League Finals To Be Held Under Closed Roof.

The Football Association of Wales has revealed that the UEFA Champions League final between Juventus and Real Madrid will be played under a closed roof at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff due to the security reason.

As the organizers, the football association of Wales made the decision after recommendations made by the Authorities.

Following the recent bombing at Manchester, which killed 22 people. The UK has raised its terrorism threat level.

This will mark the first time the finals will be held under a closed roof.

Manchester United player Ander Herrera has said that he doesn't think he has achieved enough yet to captain the club if Wayne Rooney leaves the club at the end of the season.

Rooney took the captain’s role in 2014 following the retirement of Nemanja Vidic.

Also, the clubs eliminated in the Champions League play-offs are inserted into the Europa League group stages.

“I think a team shouldn’t play two European competitions in the same season, they should go home, they shouldn’t have the option to play the Europa League.

“The Europa League is for teams who go into the Europa League, like us. We finished fifth last season, so we went into the Europa League.

I want Steven Gerrard to replace me at Liverpool - Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he would love Steven Gerrard to replace him as Liverpool manager when he leaves Anfield.

Gerrard is currently at Liverpool having retired from professional football earlier this season. He now coaches the club’s academy. The former Liverpool star will take charge of the Under-18's side next season.

Having spent all of his career at Liverpool, minus a short playing spell with LA Galaxy in the MLS, Reds fans are anxious for Gerrard to remain associated with the club and will probably coach the first team in the future.

Klopp’s contract with Liverpool is due to expire in 2022, and the former Borussia Dortmund manager wants to aid nurture Gerrard during their time together at Merseyside.

Klopp told The Times: “It’s perfect that we can involve Steven. What a guy, he’s fantastic. He was one of the world’s best footballers ever.

“I told him when I leave, or the club sacks me, I don’t care of course who’ll be my successor, but I’d love that he’d be it. I’ll do everything I can to make sure he gets all the information he needs.

Uefa to change Champions and Europa League trophy presentations.

Uefa have just revealed that the Champions League trophy will be presented to the winning captains on the pitch from this season.

The trophies will now be presented on the field to the winning captains by the UEFA President. The same practice applies to both the Europa League final and the Women’s Champions League final.

As reported by UEFA, the UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin said: "The pitch is the players' stage, and it is only fitting that their achievements are celebrated there."

It also makes sense that the officials should come down from the stands to the players – to their arena – and pay tribute to them in presenting the trophy and medals on the playing surface.

“Players will also be able to celebrate with their team-mates on the pitch in full view of the fans without the interruption of having to climb up to the stands. Furthermore, all supporters will get a perfect view of the trophy lift wherever they are seated in the stadium.”

This policy will now be seen across all Uefa club and national team competitions, but firstly, it will be implemented for the Europa League final next Wednesday between Ajax and Manchester United at the Friends Arena.

FA introduces retrospective bans for diving.

Players caught diving or feigning injury could face a two-match ban in English football next season as a result of new measures brought in by the FA.

From the beginning of next season players who dive or feign injury could face two-match suspensions, the new offense “successful deception of a match official” was approved at the FA’s annual general.

Under the new rules, when there's evidence that a match official has been successful deceived and there has been a consequence, such as a red card given to a player from the opposing side or a penalty being awarded, the FA will now be able to take retrospective action.

Over 60 Premier League players have been booked for diving in last three seasons.

Incidents will be reviewed by a panel of ex-manager, ex-player, and ex-referee, who will assess the video footage independently.

Any player found guilty of diving will be given a ban.
